About me

Hi, I’m Janet and I'm glad you're here!

I’m Janet Thompson Jackson

I created Canopy as a space for people to slow down, reconnect, and listen more closely to themselves.

I’ve seen over time that clarity and meaningful change don’t come from pushing harder or doing more.

They come from having space.

Space to pause, to breathe, to notice what’s actually going on.

And then to respond with intention rather than habit.

Wherever you are on your journey, you're welcome here.

How I work

My work brings together breathwork, embodied practices, and coaching.

Sometimes we begin with the body.

Sometimes with conversation.

Often, it’s a blend of both.

I’m interested in meeting people where they are and working at a pace that feels supportive and aligned.

This isn’t about fixing yourself or chasing a better version of who you think you should be.

It’s about building a deeper sense of trust in yourself and in the choices you’re making.

People often come to this work during times of change, transition, or uncertainty.

Sometimes they know exactly what’s shifting.

Sometimes they just know that something feels out of alignment and they want to listen more closely.

A bit of background

My path here has been shaped by years of work in law, leadership, teaching, and coaching,

integrated with long-standing practices in meditation, yoga, and other body-based work.

Over time, I learned that insight alone isn’t enough.

Sustainable change happens when understanding is supported by the body and the breath, not just the mind.

I’m an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC).

What it’s like to work together

My role isn’t to tell you what to do or who to become.

It’s to create a steady, supportive space where you can hear yourself more clearly.

Whether we’re working together through coaching, breathwork, or embodied practice,

the work is collaborative and responsive.

We pay attention to what’s present, move at a pace that feels right,

and stay anchored in respect for your autonomy and lived experience.
